Laser Interceptor Laser Jammer Review
“Currently the Laser Interceptor is out of Stock” –Radar Roy January 2014
In November of 2014 Laser Interceptor USA ceased importation of all their laser jamming systems until they could develop a new algorithm that could defeat the new variable pulse rate laser guns, such as the Dragon Eye.
It’s unknown when or if they will ramp up production and until they do, I would recommend the AntiLaser Priority Laser Jamming system.

The LI dual is a top notch jammer. My expectations were exceeded. If installing yourself, make sure to allot plenty of time to get the heads mounted properly. Also, the heads are much smaller and stealthy than I expected. Great +
Will this Laser Interceptor Jammer plug into an escort 9500ix?
@ Dave Ackerson – No Dave, this is a stand alone system, it will NOT plug into any detector but will work with any detector as a stand alone unit
I will be installing an LI system in an old ’89 camery. The car is white with black bompers. how close should I mount the jammers to the headlights and how far back from the front ov the bumper? I will also be using Veil paint on the headlights.I have no front plate. Have you ever heard of anyone spraying a few coats of Veil on the entire doghouse of a car, and is this a good idea or not? Thanks again Roy! Your comments are playing a huge part of what to buy and exactly where to mount the items purchased!
@ Dave – I’m glad folks are reading these comments! Each head has maximum coverage within 18″ So stand infront of your car, mark off your most reflective areas and make sure that those are covered. Best to keep the heads flush with Bumper but that is not always possible. Never heard of anyone spraying an entire car and wouldn’t recommend it on paint, it would ruin the finish
Actually it will work with some V1.
Out of all the laser jammer systems I’ve tested, the LI is the most consistent and most powerful jammer I have ever seen. Its performance is unmatched by any other jammer system. It provides superb performance whether your vehicle is as small as a corvette or as large as a dodge diesel truck. If you want the best, look no further.
That is definitely the consensus…LI’s perform the best across the board and represent the benchmark among laser jammers on the market. For anyone who is serious about avoiding tickets where laser is used, LI’s are the answer.
Hello Mr. radar,
I want to ask you some questions about the radar passport iQ Is the Radad detect any radar police, such as radar camera light it detects a radar, police handheld or inside the car, radar jamming I think it’s good I have a problem in which it is if you had wanted a policeman to know your speed does not give him a radar Speed then will know that he have the radar detector will stop you and takes you to radar detector and frees you to answer me I want to violate Mr. any radar detectors radar to have the best?
Mr. I found radar reveals to you the police, even though hiding behind a mountain or hill, or was at the bottom of the road and you are at the top of the road and show you the police even if there were cars and reveal to you at a distance of 2 km but the problem I forgot his name I tried to find him detector radar I failed Can you find the price ranges from $ 480 more or less if found please send me a message
Do not forget to answer my questions
Many thanks to you Mr. radar

romanse_1986@hotmail.com
@ Romanse The IQ will detect all police radar bands yes. As far as jamming police radar there is nothing on the market that works and it is a $50,00.00 fine if you jam police radar. As for radar detectors in the $480 price range I would recommend either the Escort Redline or the Escort 9500ix
Roy,
I am going to pick up a 9500ix, but want to supplement it with a laser jammer. Your information cites the Laser Interceptor as one of the best products available, and I feel that the 9500ix, supplemented by a jammer such as the LI, would provide me with pretty good protection.
However, I have stumbled across some sites, such as laserjammertests dot com, that claim the LI is one of the WORST on the market, then also go on to mention several law suits etc. filed against LI.
Can you please help me understand the truth about LI and possibly clear the air regarding LI and the lawsuits?
Also, I will be installing this in my new CTS-V, and I was thinking about placing the head behins the wire grill. Can you comment on how well you think they will work there? I really don’t want to have any obvious add-ons detracting from the appearance of the “V”.
Thanks in advance,
“thomper” in Calgary, Alberta
There is a suit pending between Blinder and LI but it wouldn’t effect the consumer. infact LI has applied for their own patent and it is pending
As far as that website, its run by a couple of “disgruntled” laser jammer users that are out to discredit the entire industry while promoting their own products.
LI’s tests have been supported by the GOL, by us and literally hundreds of users on Radardetector.net
What is the GOL?
Guys of Laser, they were an independent group of hobbyists that would test radar detectors and laser jammers
thomper, the site you visited, laserjammertests.com, is a bogus site run by a man named Chris (JTW). His prime objective is to sell a crappy laser jammer system called Laser Star. When he did the LI test, he wanted to make it look bad so he put shoe polish on the laser jammer heads. If you want unbiased laser jammer tests, I suggest you visit guysoflidar.com.
I just checked guysoflidar.com, and the most recent laser jammer test is from July 2008. The last radar detector test is from 2009. The site was last updated in Sept. 2009.
Therefore, most tests are out of date and the site appears to be abandoned.
Here is our testing results from last year
Blinder is coming out with a new unit and when they do we will be doing a new test again

No one seems to have answered your question about mounting the heads behind the wire grill on your CTS-V. They need an unobstructed forward view (180 degrees) and should be mounted parallel to, or idealy slightly forward of, the front edge of your car. The receivers should be closer to the headlights, and the transmitters should be oriented toward the mid-line of your vehicle. Otherwise they will not work properly, if at all.
Thanks for catching this post Doc, yes you want to make sure that the view forward is unobstructed
Good information, well presented, expressed and explained in an understandable fashion. I am buying a jammer!
Good review, thanks Roy.
Best in the market for sure!
A buddy of mine and I just installed a set of LI duals on the front of his Porsche. We then went to visit our high school friend who is a LEO in the neighboring town. He couldn’t get a reading on the car at all. He was astonished. JTG everytime. When it’s time for me to buy a laser jammer, Laser Interceptor will be the one I buy.
Hi Roy,
I am about to buy the LI for my MB C300, can I use the cheetah wireless device with the LI, does the cheetah wireless even work? A friend of mine installes the M47 using the cheetah and it seems really easy but does it work? It seems that 2 heads would be sufficient and I guess there is not need for the LI HP, or??
Thank ROY
Regards,
Odom
Would not recommend the Cheetah on the LI. works fine on the Blinder but not the LI
As far as the HP, if you have a large profile vehicle yes. However I have the standard LI on my F250 and it is more than adequate
Hi Roy!!
I wanted to know, what would be a better option for my C300, the escort 9500ci or the LI?
Thank you
Well the LI and 9500ci do two different things so it depends
If you already have a radar detector then I would recommend the LI
If you don’t have a radar detector and want an all in one, then the 9500ci
If you want the best system you can buy, then the LI combined with the 9500ci, this is what I use
Are the 9500ci and LI comparable on same vehicle or would I have to not wire the zr 4?
Sorry, not sure if I understand
The two would work together with each other
They just wouldn’t interface with each other
Sorry for typo, meant to ask can you install 9500ci and LI on same vehicle without interference….are they compatible?
Yes, this is the same set up I have on my own F250
Hi I was just wondering if u have ever tested the k40 rl360 system. If so is it any good.
What would be the best overall system you can put in any car? (mix and match or just 1 system. Doesn’t matter.
The best overall remote system out there, that has been reviewed by Radar Test, Guys of Lidar and us is the Escort 9500ci.
Unlike ALL other remote mounted units, the 9500ci:
1: Has the longest range of any radar detector
2: Is manufactured in North America
3: Has GPS filtering and GPS photo enforcement database
Ok. And what about the k40 ex2 laser jammers? R those any good? (just talking about jammers now not overall systems)
Go to YouTube and search for a video by the Guys of Radar
They have a test of that unit
Roy,
I owned an Escort Passport iQ. And I did get a ticket using the unit. Being very disappointed about it of course I contacted Escort to get an explanation. No I’m not an engineer so I could care less about the police gun not bing calibrated or whatever. All I know is the unit did not work when I needed it to. Now don’t get me wrong, I owned Escorts in the past and I know they are some damn good detectors. Yet, that one ticketing incident put a sting in my mind about using the iQ again so I returned it back to the manufacture and purchased their flagship 9500ic. What would make a good detector not detect radar? Especially if it’s from a respected company like Escort.
My only question would be did the officer use radar or laser?
Remember the IQ is a RADAR DETECTOR and just like any other radar detector is not going to do much for you if your shot with Laser.
I have a BMW 335is with a typical BMW grille (vertical slits). Am thinking about purchasing a radar jammer, possibly with a new radar detector (I have an older Escort Passport model). However, with the jammer you suggest the best positioning for the LED’s is horizontal. Also, the license plate frame is below grille. Any thoughts on mounting? You can check out the front of the car at: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/BYO/Byohome.aspx?enc=xia6GggKdbajJKzrQIPDvfb7xLd2toxF8b59utu72yo=#
Thanks much.
Mounting the heads in the vertical is fine, just make sure that they are level with the road.
Here is a good write-up on a BMW install.

Thanks
I wish to install a laser jamming system on my sportbike. I’ve learned that LI is a good choice. Any ideas on headphone output and ideal mounting locations? How far apart? How high can they be?
Chris, the LI would be a bit of an overkill on a bike and you would never hear it when it activated
Instead check out this unit: http://www.radardetector.org/reviews/tpx-laser-jammer-review/
I am considering buying an LI system. Is it possible to install in a way that it can easily (i.e. in less than 10 minutes) be moved from one vehicle to another? For example using velcro tape and pre-wiring in both vehicles?
Thanks.
@ Venom_Viper less then 10 minutes, doubtful
Its going to come down to the heads and cables running through the firewall
Thanks for the quick response. Do you know if I can buy an extra set of the cables to prewire the 2nd vehicle?
They go into the controller box itself, would just make up some disconnect system
Do the bright LED driving lights reduce the effectiveness of the laser?
Thanks.
Nope, would not have any effect, different bandwidth
I have been reading over the reviews of the lasers jammers and the LI seems to be the best but there is one concern.
I know the M47 can help protect the rear of the vehicle by placing 3 upfront and 1 in the rear but I have not read anything stating about LI use for rear laser protection.
If I do live in an area where rear laser protection is a concern what would you reccommend?
(I will also be pairing this most likely with the Passport 9500ix)
Rear protection all depends on what type of vehicle you have
One head to the rear isn’t going to cut it in most situations, allot more area to shoot than the front
Optimal would be 2 to front 2 to rear with the LI
I am considering purchasing a laser jammer for my ’08 Ford Taurus Limited. My concern is that because of the chrome bars on the front, there is a lot more reflective surface to cover, thus requiring me to purchase additional sensors.
Do you foresee the grill causing enough of an issue to need to compensate with more sensors, or is the technology more focused on surface size not reflectability?
@Kyle If you were considering a lower end jammer I would say yes, but the LI will have enough power to compensate for your chrome
soooooooooo just where do you mount the 2 or 3 laseer jammer heads on the front part of a CTSv caddy w/o cutting the grill to get “an unobstructed view”
LOG
@lee g If I can avoid cutting the grills I will, on the last CTV we installed laser jammer heads on we used double sided tape to the underside of the front bumper
Any suggestions on the most ideal LI head placement for a ’08 E63? (grill, bottom of bumper, etc.)
Can you get them into the bottom air scoop under the bumper?
That’s the location we were thinking but it would require mods (cutting plastic mesh the diameter of heads) to keep unit completely unubstructed. Otherwise, it would be “behind” the plastic mesh. My guess is it wouldn’t be too pricey to replace this down the road for resale purposes. Definitely don’t want the heads in the chrome grill above as part of the heads would be sticking out to keep square with the road. In short, simply want to be sure I won’t be losing any performance of LI if the heads were this low ( about a 10 inches below headlight level. Appreciate your feedback.
You cannot put the heads behind the grill, send me pictures when you get this installed
As a sidebar, is there any reason to consider the HP LI model? Twice as much money as standard LI model, I believe.
I would recommend the HP for semi trucks or motorhomes
Awesome information!! I’m considering an LI for my new 2011 TSX. Two questions:
1) Does the sensor need to be the first thing on the forward plane of the car? My k40 diffuser is mounted on the license plate of my old car. The diffuser would be the first thing damaged in a head-on accident!
2) Will the LI work on a HL shot if it’s 6 inches below the HL’s? I’m thinking about mounting them in the lower cutout – basically in line with the top of the fog lights next to the license plate.
Thanks so much!!!
Pic of the car …
http://carbl.com/im/2010/11/2011-acura-tsx-560×373.jpg
Cool picture, thanks placement should be fine under front bumper
No, does not need to be the 1st thing on the forward plane, you will see a big increase in jamming performance with the LI. Got the photos, you should be fine in the placement of your LI, get a tape measure however and try to keep them 18″ or less from your front headlamps
Roy: I’m about to spring for a dual LI for my RS6 in conjunction with a 9500ci for radar detection.
The front grille of the RS6 doesn’t allow for mounting of the head units within the grille itself without obstructing them. Would you think that it would OK to mount them underneath the bumper on either side of the front license plate?
Thanks!
I assume that you’re going for front and rear protection with the dual? The radar detector antenna would be fine behind the grill. Also suggest that you save some $$$ and think about the str i plus http://www.radardetector.org/reviews/bel-sti-r-plus-radar-detector-review/
Roy, where would be the best location to place the heads on a 08 Mitsubishi Evolution 10? Also the grill is large chicken wire type mesh….. can it go behind it? thanks.
@Gary, couldn’t really tell without looking at the car, but no, the heads cannot go behind the grill
here is a link to a pic of the front. thanks for your help.
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/armysoldier1073/frontevo.jpg
Interesting spot for the front plate. I would mount the laser jammers on either side of the grill area
I have a 2011 Shelby GT500 Mustang. Here is a pic of the front:
http://www.corepuncher.com/mustang/shelby_front.jpg
I have yet to decide on a brand of jammer. Was gonna get Escort 9500ix, then a jammer.
If you had my car, what brand jammer and exact locations to mount sensors? Thank!!!
@Corepuncher you may have to cut out some slots in the grill but would mount under front bumper outside the stropes. As far as the jammer would go with either the Blinder or LI, both would work fine for you
Thank you Roy. So you mean basically towards the TOP of the LOWER bumper?
I am having a heck of a time even choosing a detector. I like the idea of 9500ix weeding out known false alarms based on GPS, but not sure about highway.
I live in Norman OK…so not a big city, but decent sized town (100K). Take highway trips about once a month, but not too much more than that. So was thinking REDLINE for highway sensitivity.
So it’s really a matter of does the redline false alarm so much more than the 9500ix as to negate the extra highway sensitivity for me? I don’t plan on getting a “subscription” to the 9500 because there are no traffic cams around here.
As far as jammers, what is the probability that a cop would pull me over for jamming his laser? Are these situations simply passed off as a malfunction? Would my sports car make them think I might have jammer, pull me over and search? Thanks.
Yes, top of lower bumper is where I would place them
The Redline will have more false alerts than the 9500ix because of the 9500’s smart filtering capabilities
You’re not going to lose that much highway range
As far as being pulled over for having a jammer, you are in one of the states that they are outlawed
Just remember, when it goes off slow down and TURN IT OFF so he can get a reading and reduce his suspicions
You don’t want to be driving past an officer completely invisible to his gun
What about that Veil product. I assume that is not illegal? I wonder how well it would work if I put it on my headlights and foglights. We do not have front license plates in OK. It’s much cheaper that’s for sure!
@Corepuncher Veil is a good product to reduce your punch through rate and as far as I know it is legal as it is a coating. It is not 100% as a jammer would be.
Roy,
I just purchased an Audi S4, LI Laser Jammer, and the Escort 8500ciPlus. I have a few questions I’m hoping you can help me with.
Q1.) The LI Sensors (3-1/8″L x 13/16″W x 9/16″H) fit almost exactly in between the front grill slots (3-1/6″L x 3/4″H). But understanding that the sensors have to be level and straight. is this enough room to install them there?
The 2nd slide is the front grill – http://www.audiusa.com/us/brand/en/models/s4_sedan/photos_videos.html
Q2.) Was thinking about placing the rear LI sensors under the trunk handle ledge above the license plate and in between the tail lights. What are your thoughts on that placement?
The 4th slide is the best rear view –
http://www.audiusa.com/us/brand/en/models/s4_sedan/photos_videos.html
Q3.) For the rear LI Sensors………..Do you think 1 sensor is sufficient or should I get two?
Q3.) I’m thinking the Escort 8500ci Plus is basically the same level of performance as the 9500ci less Auto Learn and the Z4 Laser Shifter package. I’m hoping I’m accurate in that assumption as there are very few reviews of this system. And the 8500ci Plus is only $800.
@HGParrish Thanks for your questions:
1: As “long as they are level and straight”, yes install them there. Typically I use double sided 3M tape to do these type of installs
2: Placement on the rear sounds good also. Remember that at 500 feet the beam is 18″ wide
3: Cut out an 18″ circle and place the center where you plan on placing the sensor. This is the area it will cover. Make sure that you are covering your most reflective areas: ie license plate
4: I have not done a review of the 8500CI yet. Check out the Bel STi R Plus, a few dollars more but based on the same platform as the 9500CI
Admin,
You answered Q#3 with “Cut out an 18″ circle and place the center where you plan on placing the sensor. This is the area it will cover. Make sure that you are covering your most reflective areas: ie license plate”
Based on that response, a quad head system would seem the way to go, correct? I’m on a budget and was about to buy the standard dual head system from your site. However, it sounds like the front area would really need 1 unit by each headlight, and 1 in the center for front plate states, correct?
The remaining single unit can go near the rear plate since getting hit from the rear accounts for only 3% of laser hits, correct?
I’m trying to justify the additional $400 cost for 2 more heads.
Thank you in advance for your wisdom.
When you’re placing the 18″ circle on the front of the vehicle check to make sure that the most reflective parts of the vehicle are covered, such as the front plate, headlamps and grill. If you have a large profile vehicle you may need 3 or 4 heads.
thinking of buying li.but what about new laser ally police gun .is that true on youtube that it cannot be jammed.any sugestions how not to get ticket from laser ally.thank you.
@ stas The 1st models of he LI, Blinder and several other jammers could not jam the LA, but there have been updates to the firmware and this is no longer a problem
Hey Roy,
Can you give us examples of what your best recommendation would be for these products:
1. LI Dual
2. LI Quad
3. LI HP Dual
4. LI HP Quad
Maybe with some car size examples like Prius (ha!), Malibu, Charger.
Ford Escape, Trailblazer, RV.
Typical passenger car – LI Dual
Typical passenger car front and rear protection – LI Quad
Larger profile SUV – LI HP Dual
Larger profile SUV front and rear protection – LI HP Dual front and rear
SEMI Truck Front- LI HP Dual front
Great question JummyC
G-day Roy
I am thinking of getting a LI, I have a Nissan Navara 4×4 with crome bullbar , Could you tell me the best place to mount the heads
Regards Stewie
@ stewie – Very cool truck! Looking at the photos if there was enough of an opening next to the headlamps I would 1st try to install them there.
Does L1HP need firmware up grade if only 7 months old?.Heard about new laser gun laser ally.
@R LOPEZ I would go to the LI site and see if there is a newer firmware update just to be safe. The new firmware will address the LA
I think with the new LI out and the laser ally being jammed by it, LI sits at the top as being able to defeat any new gun that does come out. With the HP model its even better.
a video of the LI gen 8 against the LA:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qX8Y5AO_yk
I have a V1 radar detector already, I was wondering if it will work well with Laser Interceptor? (Will there be any conflict?)
@ imran The Li will work fine with the V1, no problems
G-day Roy im having problems getting product (li laser jam )sent to Australia have perchased the blinder from you befor any reson for this?regards stewie
I don’t sell stuff anymore and they have come down hard with restrictions in the US for dealers
I am thinking of pairing the Escort Redline and the ZR4 together as I live in a not so friendly state for Radar detectors so I can be totaly invisable is that a good pairing?
@Dave Depends – If you have a larger profile vehicle the ZR4 will not work, instead I would recommend the Laser Interceptor
Hi Roy, Nice site and u-tube video, Question, can you provide a close up photo of the LI Laser Heads that need the unobstructed view, if you could, show a close up of the laser heads on your F-250 and how far they stick out from the grille, I have a 2011 Camaro and main grille is set back 3 inches from the front cowling, I think I have to mount them on the secondary intake grille that is flush with the cowling, but it’s only 10 inches off the ground, any advice??
Here is an install video on my F250, don’t have photos of the F350
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUUorvZa4-I
what is the best location for recievers and led (li 2 head laser jammer) to mount on the front of my fore f150?
Horizontal with the headlamps so that you have coverage of both headlamps and your front plate
Will the heads on the laser interceptor fit inside the grille intake on the bottom of the front bumper of a 2010 Corvette GS
The Vette installs we have done yes
Roy,
I have purchased the escort 9500ci and also the LI. Now on placement of the heads .Will they interfere w/ each other if mounted above one another or can I move the Escort heads below my headlaps and the LI’s in the center of the bumper intake 18 in apart from the lamps / opp the tag.
You shouldn’t have any problems as long as you’re not blocking the front lens
I would try spacing them out however to cover all frontal areas
Roy, I have a C5 Corvette (pop up headlights) with the front plate inside the vehicle against the windshield at the same angle of the windshield. The front of the car is low observable, if using laser where would you shoot first?
1: The plate
2: Anything that looks like a good reflection
3: the edge of the windshield and roof
search “laser ally vs laser interceptor” on youtube it shows new laser ally LIDAR defeats laserinterceptor jammers, it clearly displays a speed on the black BMW, so apparently LI has no effect on this new laser gun
Did you look at the publish date(s) on the video?
If you’ve done your homework you would had seen that Blinder and LI have come out with updates that now defeat this gun
I have been reading that both LI and Blinder have made a lot if improvements. In your ipinion as if today which us the better one. Since after your answer, I will be purchasing. Seems that all the comparisons out there are old. Thank you for your help. After your comparison between the V1 and the 9500 I bought the 9500 and love it.
Also what is the real website for the LI? I see a few but I know there are fake sites out there.
The official site is overseas
Right now I would put my $$$ on the LI
Blinder is coming out with a new unit later this year
I have recently purchased a dark colored Lexus IS-F. It is not a large car. I also live in Florida. I was considering purchasing the LI but was unsure if I should get laser protection for the rear. Would you recommend shifters for the rear living in FL? I have a 9500IX so I figure with the LI in front with the 9500IX for radar I would be pretty well covered.
As 90% of all laser is shot to the front you only have a 10% chance of being shot from the rear.
So it would be up to you if you want 90% or 100% laser protection
As far as radar, sounds like your covered there, great detector
Thanks Roy. Guess I need to get it sooner than I thought. Driving back from picking up my daughter in Daytona, FL today I got hit with laser on I-95 north bound by a Florida High Patrol. First time I have been hit with laser from a FHP. 9500IX picked it up right away but of course by that time it was too late.
Up, FHP has been buying new stuff
Hello again and thanks for your help. I am looking at purchasing the LI Quad through your website today. I signed up for your mailing list and recieved the 10% off code (very nice) plus free shipping and no tax (I live in FL). I just want to make sure that if I purchase it though your site that I still get the full warranty and lifetime updates through LI. They seem to be very picky about their resellers. Can you address this for me please?
@William – We are affiliates of Radarbusters who are authorized dealers. So yes, you will have a full warranty when you use my link that activates the 10% off discount code and buy the unit on radarbusters. Drive safe and smart…
Excellent website Roy; Kudos. I have a 9500IX that replaced my X50, I am looking at the LI for my Kia Sorento 2012. After reading this entire blog, i dont know if i have a place to mount it, complete facia assy. I have been accustomed to my X50 sound that I actually hate the IX. Do the IX and X50 run the same antenna, the same radar without the fluffyness? I mostly do HWY driving in car and Sportbike, would the Redline offer me the same detection proctection as the IX?
Thanks Curtis the ix and X50 have the same antenna, what is different is the GPS capabilities (no fluff)
Well, since I live in (Dreaded) Yuma and travel to Tucson, Phoenix and San Diego regularly, I think my best shot is the Redlide. Do you agree?
Some has to live in Yuma…
I make the trip myself a couple times a year
Yes on the redline
Ok Roy we have made the move to Texas, but in the DFW Area so where will I mount the rear heads or head on a 2004 Ford Excursion, I can’t see a place that would work? Ted
How about fabricating a mount for the rear plate?
And just use one head? Does the unit have a instant off when hit or a few second delay?
I would recommend 2 heads on a car, 1 head on a motorcycle
You can set up the programming on the LI so it does automatically shut off
I’m considering a laser jamming system. I currently have an Escort Qi45 installed in a Honda S2000. The Escort laser jammers do not seem to be as well regarded at the Laser Interceptor (LI) system. Will the LI jammers be compatible with my Qi45 unit?
They will work fine alongside your QI45
What type of “fix” does Escort need to do with their Qi45 or ZR 4 system?
As far as laser? Come up with a better laser jamming system then what they have.
Roy: I have an 08′ Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ. Would appreciate a front mounting location recommendaton for the LI, and will the standard version give me sufficient protection or do I need the HP? I can send a photo if necessary. thank you.
In the grill, one on each side near the headlamps and center. The standard version will give you plenty of protection
I have an after-market wire mesh grill. I know I can’t put the units behind the grill & I’d rather not cut holes in it. What do you think about mounting them in the recessed area of the lower bumper where the tow hooks are. Each unit would be 21″ diagonally down from the center of each headlite lens & 20″ from the center of the license plate. If I apply the 18″ rule I’ve heard you mention, that radius would catch about 5″ of headlite lens & 3″ of license plate. Will I get adequate coverage with that placement? Thanks for your help.
Each head will cover an 18″ cirlce from where they are mounted. So go up 18″ to see if you have adequate coverage
Is that circle 18″ in diameter or 18″ in radius?
Radius…
I was seriously considering getting a ZR4 until I read this review and the various Blinder ones… now I have to determine which one to focus on. Damn.
Does this unit have an auto shutoff like the Blinder 905, or is it something we’d have to address ourselves in real time?
Yes, it has to be programmed however
Laser Elite LE- X2 What is your opinion on this Laser Jammer ?
It is a Asian knock-off of the Blinder marketed by a group in Washington State.
Basically it violates all US patents and the group that imports them lie about their relationship with the company. I will NOT test nor review this product
Is this Laser Interceptor doing Jam for radars used in the Gulf States Especially in the Sultanate of Oman?
Because radars take a picture from the back of the car not from front
Have no idea, O never been there so you will need to give me more details
Roy,
I appreciate all your assistance. I’ve got one High Powered Quad LI on my Mega Cab 2500 4×4 with 5″ lift and have had no problems. Another HP Quad on a 2008 M5 and now looking to put one on an RV. I’ve viewed your video on the LI when your RV was set up and understand it was not necessarily a commercial setup. I’m probably going to get another HP Quad, and wondering if putting all 4 heads up front would work. The RV’s front is completely flat, like a big wall. Do you know what area a HP head will cover (15″ or more)? For example, instead of putting one actually on the side view mirror to cover this target, I would put it on the front end with an area of coverage to get the side view mirrors. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
4 heads should work but the only way to be sure is to get a couple laser guns to test it. Would love a photo when your done
Roy,
looking at the prices. For the price of an HP Quad, could get two sets of regular Quads for a total of 8 heads. Would there be a problem with two setups on the front? interference, etc.
Thanks.
Not a problem, but what are you putting these on? A semi?
is the laser jammer water resistant when washing car and was the radius from were the radar detector start beeping.Does it detect even if the cops are hiding in the forest, bushes and other places.
Yes the LI is water resistant
Confused on the past part of your questions. These devices do not detect police cars, they detect police speed enforcement equipment that is operational
A very good combination even if the interface is not super easy to use.
The components are well designed and executed and support is nearly instantaneous on most occasions.
Normally I do not learn post on blogs, but I would like to say that this write-up very forced me to take
a look at and do it! Your writing style has been surprised me.
Thanks, very nice post.
When are you going to test the new # 1 Laser Jammer the AntiLaser Priority?
Do these jammers provide 360° protection from laser? And if not is there a way to create such a system? Cause some of just wanna haul ass all the time?
If you install a set of jammers to the rear yes.
BTW, no such thing as 360 in laser. They can only shoot you coming or going. The side of the car would appear stationary
I have 2014 corvette with Escort max what laser jammer would you recommend? are do I really need one.
Well as to if you really needs one depends on the enforcement methods used in the areas you drive. As an example Ohio, Florida, the New England states are very big on Laser. Today laser accounts for 25% of the enforcement equipment out there. As far as which one, my personal choice is the Blinder: http://www.powersportsus.com/Blinder-HP-905-Laser-Jammer-p/hp-905.htm
