Review: Escort iX
“The new Escort iX is Escort’s replacement to their legendary best selling detector of all time, the Passport 9500ix”
Updated 08/08/2016
If you’re considering purchasing an Escort which provides great detection range to police radar and laser, and protection from photo enforcement database, we highly recommend the new Escort iX.
The new Escort iX is being positioned by Escort to be the replacement to their best selling radar detector of all time, the Escort Passport 9500ix, a detector we have not been recommending for some time now because of the 9500ix’s inability to effectively filter out the K-band collision avoidance systems so common on the road today.
The iX includes Escort’s sophisticated IVT™ filter which does an exceptional job of filtering these rolling nuisances of K-band falses.
The Escort iX promises to be one of the best conventional windshield mounted detectors ever offered by Escort.
Escort iX 5-Star Rating
The Escort iX is rated as a 5-Star radar detector, which also provides you with nearly eight times the capture distance of a police radar gun and is noticeably better than the 9500ix.
And as an extra bonus, you can easily improve the Ka-band detection range of the iX’s by pressing a few buttons on your detector and segmenting Ka band.
This enables your iX to scan the Ka band faster and more efficiently and increases the range of your iX by as much as 15%.
Because of this the Escort iX will provide you with sufficient warning of instant on radar miles away.
If you drive in Virginia or in other countries where radar detectors are illegal, the RDD-immune Escort REDLiNE radar detector will be the best detector for you.
The new iX features Escort’s first ever quick attachment EZ Mag mount bracket which allows for lightening fast attachment and detachment from the windshield. (See demonstration video below):
