in South Carolina jammers are illegal so the next best thing i found was veil it is 100% legal
adds much needed reaction time to slow down safely

      • If you drive a white or light colored car it won’t work because they can hit your car anywhere with the LIDAR and get a reading. However, If you drive a black or dark color car they have to hit your headlamp or front plate to get a reading–and that is what this coating PREVENTS!

NOPE !! Did not work on my 2010 Mustang. No front plates. Black grill. Nailed for 56 in 45 zone around midnight, crystal clear night. Not sure which gun, but I would estimate range at about 800ft. I have enough Veil (3 or 4 coats) on all front headlights/fog lights to obviously darken the beams. As a matter of fact, I thought I might need to strip it off just to see better at night. Now I know that this stuff will not help me. I do not have a laser jammer, but I run with an Escort 9500ix. In my case this Veil was useless and provided no benefit. In this painful real life scenario, Veil failed to perform. If there was any benefit, it did not stop a ticket. I would not buy it again.

I am a satisfied user of this product. I have successfully defeated multiple LIDAR laser encounters by using VEIL stealth paint in combination with my Escort Passport 8500 x50. One time the officer continued to shoot my vehicle (1996 Chevy Lumina)from behind as I passed him, just to get a reading. Another time, the officer shooting my vehicle looked at his LIDAR gun with a confused look on his face.

While this product in not as reliable as an active laser jammer, it is a very good alternative to someone who can’t afford a high priced jammer.

You still NEED a high quality radar/laser detector to pair with this product.

A typical application will last a year and you would apply to the front headlights and plate as that is where 95% of all laser is shot

Get an antilaser cover for the front plate ($6 to $8), paint the head and fog lights, and do not pressure wash it…I had the police lase my car three times in a 2000 ft approach and I could see them pointing it at my car clearly when they finally got a speed at about 300 feet. They were not happy…Using a Passport 9500IX…

The lidar guns does not get reading, office visually sees me moving much faster than traffic, and wham, no reading, but visually sees speed, and now they will pull me over.

Net/net; won’t cop pull me over when he does not get a reading and I am obviously going fast?

A state hwy patrol officer, in Texas at least, ***WILL*** pull you over if he/she ***visually observes*** you speeding more than 10 mph over the limit regardless whether or not they were able to clock you. Absent the scientific evidence (radar, laser, vascar) you will not get a ticket, but you certainly will get a WW (Written Warning). Most state LEO’s are experts in estimating vehicle speed within +/- 3 mph of actual. Even without the scientific evidence it’s at the LEO’s discretion to cite you for “wreckless” operation or “driving too fast for conditions”.

They may give you a warning ticket but it is completely bogus without some sort of measurement. The courts have consistently tossed out LEO estimates (read: guesses). The LEO may claim they can estimate speed with some accuracy but they cannot convince a court of it. They need something besides a guess for ‘probable cause to make a stop. Sorry.

Have not encounter them using it from the rear. Usually from the Freeway on ramps they just sit there with their radars on…easier as they dont have to aim the radars. Lidar is more likely used to pick off the speeding car on a crowded road as its very selective.

I drive black cars exclusively and have never gotten a ticket with a radar/lidar device. I use a top of the line Cobra radar/laser detector and a Passport as a back up because I’m paranoid LOL and it has been batting 1000 for me the last 5 years–works perfectly! In IL we do have front plates and this stuff on my front plate and headlamps gives me extra time to slow down. Also, I’ve noticed a LOT of cops up high on overpasses with their little radar/lidar guns with chase cars on the ramps. Start looking UP people because if you see a stationary vehicle on the top of an overpass, it’s more than likely gonna be a state/county revenue collector. I run hard and fast so between my 2 radar/lidar and this paint, I’m comfortable with setting my cruise control at 100-110 when conditions allow. I’m a professional driver BTW, been to NASCAR school and the exec protection limo driving school so I have TRAINING in high-speed driving and 2.7 million accident and ticket free miles in my life. I’ve also lived for many years in Germany where I routinely drove at 140-150 mph on the autobahn in a 700 series BMW so I have a great deal of high-speed driving experience. I’m not some punk kid out driving fast for fun, I just need to get where I’m going by car since I don’t fly on airplanes. I strongly discourage untrained and inexperienced drivers from driving this fast. Training and experience are absolutely necessary to drive at high speeds–and at 100 mph plus, you won’t get a ticket, you’ll be going to JAIL. Remember that, and keep a lawyer on retainer.

        Hi Mr. Reyer,

You said you wouldn’t recommend it on tail lights – is this because it significantly changes the color output of the tail lights, or is there other concerns?

I’m asking for similar reasons as Brent, I live in N.C. as well, and my car has no front plate and “pop-up” headlights, along with plenty of angles in the front – so the rear is the bigger concern. I do plan on getting an active laser shifter, but would love to pair it up with this stuff.

Clear color of dye-based IR 850-950nm blocker is not physically possible, it will always block some of the 600-680nm wavelenghts you humans call the color RED. And white light without the RED spectrum gets azure, cyan to bluish tint.

Cost about the same as your first ticket…Most police today use KA band, K band is fading away as you can detect them 5 miles away…Funny little issue, after that big quake in Japan my detector had to remap most of the stationary false alarms…Motion detectors and door openers mostly. They will drive you nuts if you buy a Valentine…

I need a new one as they get cloudy with time…They do seem to work…Anyone reading this should understand the laser beam is a tight focused beam that is maybe 6 feet in diameter at 2000 feet and tighter and smaller the closer you get to the officer. Its wise to have the detector as low as possible and not up at the roof line as you may not detect the laser…My son and his jacked up in the air pickup learned this lesson the hard way with a 500 dollar ticket when he had the detector above the rear view mirror and it never went off. Also jacked up in the air makes you an easy laser target….

how do I remove Veil? I am turning in my lease car, and i can’t get it off with lense cleaner, Simple Green or acetone. Please advise – great product – leaves the Canadian OPP’s banging their laser guns trying to get a reading

Hi guys , I’m a little confused ,does it mean that I need a jammer to go with this coating ? If I do indeed have a jammer ,why do I need a coating ?

Illegal in many states and the officer will know he is getting jammed…In Calif its a cheap fix it ticket…People get around it by having a handy power cut off switch for the jammer…Get lased, jam him, slow down and cut power to the jammer. That way he can get a speed reading…I think I learned that from Roy…I do not use a jammer but love the paint…The police like to hit you with the laser at extreme distances or they are off to the side up on an over pass. Less reflection out of the head lights if they hit you at an angle. Most officers will say WTH, and just laze the next guy and forget you…Usually you will see their car turned sideways as it will not work through their windows and it will not work when they are in motion…Don’t buy cheapy detectors…

liked the video. Thanks for the info. Wondering if having the headlights turned has any effect on the coating or the “veiling”. Up here in Canada our vehicle headlights are always on.

Hello. Back to the “works best on dark colored cars” comment above… What about white, or in my case silver, cars?

I understand darker colors adsorb more light / EMR – but will lighter colors offset the benefit of the product? Is the protection significant enough to still be worth it?

    Thanks.

What about illumination loss when coating headlights and auxiliary lights? I LOVE the brightness of my array. What is the percentage loss on Hella 55 watt bulbs……and on 130 watt headlights? Thx

Can the product be completely removed prior to subsequent applications?

You mentioned it needs to be reapplied every couple of months. What causes it to wear off?

    • I have have had my Veil on my Harley now for over a year and still works great. But yes, if you’re doing a new application take the old stuff off first

What causes it to come off is just daily wear and tear

First of all, I really liked that it blocked 20/20. I have a few question about this product
    1. suppose I have a laser jammer installed in my car and I also have veil and I am in a Virginia for suppose, where having a jammer is illegal. In your other videos you suggested to turn off or unplug the device in states like that. But because of this veil if the cops gun is blocked and if he comes up and looks for a jammer, ill be in trouble

    2. How well does this product do in rain and should I reapply it after every car wash?
3.for some reason if I have to remove this product, how can I do that.

    thanks in advance

    • The Veil is not going to make you 100% invisible so they will still get a reading as you get closer to the officer so there shouldn’t be any suspicions.

Veil works very well and one coating will last 6 to 9 months

You can remove with rubbing alcohol

    Hi Radar roy,

I see that a tinted license plate is a 114$ ticket here in the state of Ca. I was wondering if this veil while on a cover for the license plate, would it be dark enough to be considered a “tint” for a ticket.

Roy, I was wondering if this coating can be used on HID headlights on my Challenger. I have heard that if I buy accessory headlight covers (not laser defeating covers, but smoked tint) for the car, and the HID lights are turned on it will melt the covers, so they have to be removed at night. Is there any affect from extreme heat to this coating if applied on HID headlights?

    Thanks,

    George

Hey Guys, Enough of this children play. I have about 10 years (!!!) the Blinder M-20 , the oldest and the most basic Blinder’s device, ok? I installed it with 3 vehicles. It jammed all of the lasers… Didn’t miss a bit, about 9-10 times. I had been lucky. When you have blinder you don’t need to waste any more money about lucky paints.. It is the best protection I know. I am not working there, but this device just keep on working and with a precise.

    Good luck all 🙂
