Uniden R1 & Uniden R3 Review & Introduction
Uniden R3 & R1: New extreme performance radar detectors beat the Escort Redline at a better price point.

Uniden has made a huge splash in this industry starting with their Uniden LRD-950 and LRD-850 radar detectors several years back. They’ve continued to demonstrate their commitment to the industry with their two successor models, the GPS-enabled Uniden DFR7 radar detector and the Uniden DFR6 radar detector introduced last year.
But the big news is that Uniden has introduced two new extreme performance radar detectors to take on the Escort Redline and everybody else for that matter, beating Escort at its own game while offering even better savings of $250 over the Escort Redline (which lists for $549.95) with their Uniden R1 priced at an MSRP of only $329.95 and the GPS-enabled Uniden R3 at $429.99.
Early tests are showing that these radar detectors are dominating all others with incredible detections across all police radar bands while providing exceptional quietness with some of the best filtering around. Both detectors are nearly undetectable by SPECTRE RDDs and the GPS-enabled R3 is proving to be an absolute joy to drive not only on the highway but around town as well.
It’s safe to say the Uniden has hit a world-series winning grand-slam and we expect more great things from Uniden. The detector industry is on notice.
