Cedar Electronics, the parent company to both Escort and Cobra, recently released their successor to their Escort MAX 3 radar detector.

While we found the occasional erratic performance of the Escort MAX 3 somewhat off-pointing, it appears Escort has addressed the MAX 3’s shortcomings.

At a $400 price point, the new Escort MAX 4 competes quite well against the Uniden 4 (priced at $379).

For the additional $20, Escort offers you Bluetooth connectivity with their DriveSmarter smartphone app, similar radar detector sensitivity, and a super quiet ride.

Without question, the Escort MAX 4 is a worthy successor to the outgoing MAX 3.
