Review of RMR C-475 Radar Jammer Scrambler
Those of you that have been following me for any length of time are aware of the $50,000.00 reward that offer to ANYONE that can show me one of Rocky Mountain Radar’s products that actually are effective at jamming police radar.
A few weeks ago RMR released their new radar and laser scrambler, the RMR C-475 so I ordered one unit online from their distributor.
Over the past several days I have been testing the unit against several of my own radar and laser guns and this unit had no affect what so ever in scrambling and/or jamming.
In one of my prior testing videos of the RMR C-450 where I pitted this unit against one of Kustom HR-8 radar guns, I shot the video during the daytime and the detector/jammers LED display was so weak it was washed out in the video.
RMR then fired back at me on their home page of their website saying that I had fabricated my testing video because you couldn’t see the display.
Review of RMR C-475
So this test of the new RMR C-475 I decided to shoot the testing video at night, so you could clearly see that the display was on and the unit was powered up.
As I am certified to instruct police radar training and I’m familiar with all of the equipment that is owned and operated by my local police agency, I chose to test RMR’s C-475 against a speed trailer that has a Kustom HR-8 radar gun.
This radar gun is one of the most popular stationary hand held radar guns used by police in use today.
You can see and hear in this video that the RMR C-450 is operational and that it had no effect in jamming this K-band radar gun at all.
Therefore I will continue to offer my $50,000.00 reward to ANYONE that can show me a RMR scrambler/jammer that works as advertised!

Yep I had one of this Rocky Mountain Radar POS and I got a ticket with it in my car. On top of that. They didn’t paid the Ticket like they said they would.
Dear Roy,
I ordered one unit of Rocky Mountain RMR-C475. After 10 days I will get it here in Ukraine (East Europe) and will test with all Russian & Ukrainian radars. Also I have possibilities to make this test with original police radars and photo radars named “Vizir”.
I will make video report also and send it to You and hope You will place it on Your web page. That is very bad that I found Your web page after I purchased RMR-C475 . But any way, let’s check it in Europe and see result.
Regards,
Sergey
Several years ago out of curiosity I purchased a RMR and hooked it up in the patrol car while my reserve officer in another unit used a Kustom Falcon handheld. The Falcon has been anualy recertified by a qualified technician since our city has owned it. Tuning fork tests checked ok. The falcon erred and showed differing readings. Constant reading of actual speed couldn’t be tracked untill I was within 90 to 80 feet. Measured with 100′ nylon measure that is somwhat stretched out, but at any rate a good estimation of distance. We switched cars and I ran the Falcon and same result, after tuning fork tests again. Scary, but at least I’d 18 years experience to testify as to my observations of estimated speed to wite an noi to violaters. During this test we tried to find the best location possible with the least trees and other radar signal absorbtion posibilities. A little difficult in our state with all our trees and shrubbery. Idealy if one could preform this test in open territory like Utah or Kansas with long sight distances the result may have been different. we mad sure no signage was in the vicinity to pottentialy bounce the beam/signal and we did not use the forbidding radar bounce in the mirror tricks. In my opinion we did an honest test and the blasted thing worked to a measurable degree.
My appologies for my bad spelling in the above post. I should proof read prior to submit 🙂 Worn out keyboard with missing keys.
I live in Michigan and there are only 2 places that I have seen the RMR for sale. Through the internet and sadly to my surprise “Cabelas”
Yes,Cabelas,a nationwide store that prizes itself on sealing quality products. I have tried contacting Cabelas via email etc about your reward Roy and they still sell the RMR product. Here is a link http://www.cabelas.com/product/Rocky-Mountain-Radar-C435-and-C475-Laser-Detectors-and-Scramblers/716535.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dradar%2Bdetectors%26x%3D16%26y%3D12&Ntt=radar+detectors
@powerpickle Thanks man… Yes I have contacted them by letter, they just don’t care……
yea,my brother had one. they do work in a way,we still got pulled over and warned. Cops can still tell if your hauling ass
Radar systems work on a principal called the Doppler Shift. Just as sound waves will echo off walls, radio frequencies (RF) will also reflect off surfaces. The RF speed remains the same at nearly 300,000 km/sec. but the frequency of those waves will change when they strike a moving target, becoming higher in frequency(more waves in a given amount of time) if the target is moving toward the RF source. The radar's receiver 'listens" for the echoed RF and calculates it's travel time and frequency change to determine the speed of the target.
Radar detectors and jammers differ in that a detector only has a receiver, which will only tell you when you are being hit with a RF signal, while jammers also have a transmitter. The jammer will send out RF signals with additional radio noise or "clutter" in an attempt to hide the signal that originated from the police radar gun.
Commercially available radar jammers do not work 100% of the time, but it would be inaccurate to say they don't work at all. The reliability of the jammer is larger determined by the transmitter and electronic components used, which will also effect the price of the unit. You know what they say…"You get what you pay for."
the RMR voice sounds like a chinese hooker 😛
No passive radar jammers(sold by Rocky Mountain Radar and KAT akaKick Ass Technology) do not work.
Active radar jammers do work but it is a felony offense to operate them and they are hard to find

You can jam laser thought with an active laser jammer like the Escort zr3, Blinder M20/40, Laser Pro Park, Anti-Laser, and Laser Interceptor.
Laser jammers are illegal in some states but not all like radar jammers
RMR “jammers/scramblers” are junk…don’t waste your money!!
TO: Roy and consumers
I bought ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR detector & scrambler/jammer around 7 years ago. I live in DesMoines Iowa and went to visit my dad near davenport who is a retired cop. I told him about this detector/scrambler and asked him if he thought the local police officer would check the verification of this unit. we talked with the cop and we met him on a 4 lane highway with the cop sitting in the middle median. We exchanged cell phone#s and proceeded with the test of which none jammed and the detection was not at all impressive, infact on laser test the cop told us how fast and the distance we were from him before the detector even went off and on ka band he told how fast we were going right before the detector went off. I have had escort passports since then and have been happy but still got a few tickets with the 8500. thinking of going with your recommendation of 9500ci. However to the consumers do not be fooled by what is in my OPINION would to be a fraudulant company (ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR). Dont waste your money. Trust me, I am a consumer also.
Thanks, Mike

This product works! Roy, you must have forgotten that there’s a punch-trough zone of 50-200 ft. Why don’t you show us what the sign displays from a larger distance. I personally watched scrambled displays so many time, but not all of them. This device saved me a lot of money. It only works on the large distance and only if you’re hit with a radar from the front or light angle. It won’t protect you if you’re blasting past the police car hidden on the roadside. You have to slow down when you see a possible speed trap. When you’re out in the open you’re protected.
Interesting array of comments, though I’ll pass once again great work Roy.
