How a Police Laser Jammer Works
Have you ever wondered how a police laser jammer works?
One of the most common questions we’re asked about is “How does a police lidar jammer work?”
Because of this I put together this 8-minute video:
How Police Lidar Guns Work
To first understand how a police laser jammer works, you first need to have some understanding on how a police lidar gun works.
Instead of transmitting a beam of microwave radio signal like a radar detector does, a police laser gun transmits a beam of light on the near infrared light spectrum.
The aiming point for the officer is the most reflective areas of your car, like your license plate or headlamps.
This beam of light is only 18″ wide at 500 feet and after it hits your car the beam of light is reflected back to the laser gun and the laser guns internal computer calculates your speed.
How Police Lidar Jammer Works
So for a police laser jammer to work, the first step is to make sure that the heads are installed in an area where the officer is targeting your vehicle, someplace close to the headlights or license plate.
Then when the laser jammer receives the signal of the officers gun, it transmits it’s own light beam using the same pulse rate as the officers laser gun, blanking it out thus making your car invisible to the laser gun.
Which is the Best Laser Jammer?
Today I rate the AntiLaser Priority as the best laser jamming system on the market today as it uses a pulse rate matching algorithm to match the incoming signal from the officers laser gun. Because of this the ALP system can jam all known police lidar guns in use today.
