Laser Interceptor vs. Blinder HP-905 Laser Jammer
Which laser jammer is better, the Laser Interceptor 8.9 or the Blinder HP-905?
As this is one of the most common questions that I’m asked I decided to do a head to head comparison test today to let you decide for yourself.
But before I share the results from this test and the video let me share this with you first.
Both the Blinder HP-905 and the Laser Interceptor 8.9 are both two of the best laser jammers made today, so no matter which one you choose you’re not going to be sorry.
Both the Laser Interceptor and the Blinder laser jammers use powerful laser diodes to jam police laser guns and each of them can be switched on the fly to parking sensor mode only where laser jammers are illegal.
One slight advantage that the Blinder HP-905 does have is that it’s jammer heads are about half the size of the Laser Interceptor’s heads making it an easier install.
In this video of the head to head competition between the Blinder and the Laser Interceptor a speed counter measure enthusiast by the name of Mike installed both the Blinder and the Laser Interceptor on his own vehicle.
Mike also had applied the Veil Stealth Coating to his headlights, fog lights, rear license plate and taillights.
Mike’s wife drove his truck during this comparison test while Mike video recorded the entire test.
Laser Interceptor vs. Blinder HP-905 Video: 29:20 Minutes
Testing Location
This test was done on a 2400-foot remote airstrip located in Morristown Arizona, FAA designation 0AZ5.
There were no other vehicles on the airstrip during this test.
Test Vehicle
The test vehicle used during this test was Mike’s 2005 Dodge Ram pickup. Mike had installed 2 Laser Interceptor heads and 2 Blinder heads on a black bumper guard.
As noted, the headlights, fog lights, tail lights, and rear plate had the Veil Stealth Coating applied.
The Results
During this test I used the Kustom Pro-Lite, the LTI 20/20, the LTI Ultralyte, the Stalker LR, and the Laser Atlanta in both non-stealth and stealth modes.
During the testing there were several error codes reported on several of the laser guns. An error code implies that there is some interference, the most common being bright sunlight or a reflection of bright light. As a certified traffic radar and laser instructor these codes are not uncommon.
The Blinder was able to jam to gun in all tests.
The Laser Interceptor jammed to gun with the exception of the Stalker LR as I recorded a punch through at 87 and 67 feet.
Which One Would You Choose?
At the conclusion of this test Mike felt that the Blinder HP-905 had a slight edge over the Laser Interceptor because it jammed the Stalker LR to gun.

if you switched placement of the hp-905 and the laser interceptor…I would prolly bet 5 bucks the Li would jtg and the hp-905 would get slight p/t. it comes down to placement, angle of jammer, too many variables to say. I have tested all these guns without veil with cliff at Li in flrida and all JTG. version 8.13. My heads are not even 100% level but clse and on the front and rear JTG. My blinder worked very well-2.12 dual led m27. But I wanted the Li’s after seeing multiple reviews over the years and knowing the Li’s are updated more frequently which makes a difference especially with Laser ally out there. Oh, my laser interceptor also JTG and JFG truspeed as well as the above guns and a prolaser 3, so 5 total guns were all JTG and JFG. Both are excellent, honestly any one of them can get a p/t and at 87ft and 57ft, that’s pretty much jtg. I never have been hit closer than 200′ which isn’t very far. Most hits take place at 500′ to 1000′ and almost never at 50-100 feet due to the speed clsure rate and wouldn’t give the cop enough time to zap you without first taking a shot at long range which will still give the driver plenty of time to slow down. It wasn’t until I shot my car and realized how close 87′ feet is. literally if your off to the side of the road, youll be able to see the whites of the eyes of the driver. this is a jtg for the most part…if you cant slow down before 57′ or 87′ then you deserve a ticket. GOI LI…blinder is awesome too, just saying if you switched those jammer positions around you may have the same result except the Li may jtg and the blinder may get the 87′ p/t/ So many variables. Always love to see the jammers working like there suppose to.:)).
your test are with the gun blasting all the way out from 24oo feet. this is not how they do it. They wait till your are way closer then pull the trigger. My detector always catches it but i did not see the crusier way earlier I would have gotton a ticket. do a no trigger pull until 1000 feet in a mss of cars as the detectors do not alarm unless you are the target.
Jus my 02 worth
Ok, you’re going to tell a certified traffic radar and laser instructor how to do his test? What experience do you have? This is not real life it’s recorded to show what the detection/jamming range is, if the units overheat, and if there is any punch through

VEIL TESTIMONY
i wish to make an indirect comment re VEIL this stuff is great i use it on my vehicle as i travel through georgia into tennessee and it is almost foolproof , i took radar roys recommendarion on the BEL Pro and the two combined makes me invisible at a constant speed of 80 /85 constant mph
all thru ga the local absolutely love sitting on the overpass’s and northbound on ramps. the only time i was stopped was to be told by a totally menacing black lazer equipped death star type officer was that i was DRIVING TOO SLOW FOR THE INTERSTATE, THIS WAS AFTER THE BEL PRO GAVE ME IMMEDIATE LAZER WARNING OF ABOUT 3 SECONDS WARNING AND THE VEIL TOOK OVER AFTER THE SHORT STOP RADAR DETECTION NOTIFICATION
THE OFFICERS LOOK OVER MY HEADLIGHT/TAILLIGHTS AND HAVE EVEN CALLED THEIR SUPERVISERS TRYING TO DETERMINE WHY THE LIGHTS LOOK AS THEY DO THEY HAVE NO CLUE
SO UTILIzING THE BLINDER COMBO WILL BE ABSOLUTELY THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF THE AUTHORITIES INTENT ON FEEDING LOCAL COFFERS
MY WIFE STATES THIS IS THE BEST PRESENT I HAVE EVER GIVEN
hi Radarroy.
this is good stuff.you are doing a great job explaining this equipments.
here is my question.
the blinder comes with two jammer heads .can i use one at the back of my vehicle and one at the front ?
i drive a ford explorer .
tks
To protect the front you will need the two heads in the front, one would not be enough
I’d like to know the results of those tests without the use of any radar jamming, using only the Veil. Are there any testing/videos as such?
Yes, right here: http://www.radardetector.org/veil-g4-and-zr4-follow-up/
