    I have a friend that bought a knock off (He thought it was the genuine thing at the time) Escort at 1/2 the price that I paid for mine years ago and was bragging to me about it. I looked at it, then compared it to mine. You could tell the unit was cheaply built, lighter weight and did not boot up the same. He did not believe me until he got a ticket. Oh well. Buyer beware.
