H.A.R.D. Motorcycle Radar Detection System
Helmet Assisted Radar Detection System – Heads Up LED Alert System
Helmet Assisted Radar Detection, H.A.R.D., is a wireless system for motorcyclists needing to know when their radar detector is alerting them of a radar threat. The H.A.R.D. System provides an immediate visual alert: a flashing LED light inside the helmet illuminated within your field of vision allowing immediate recognition of a radar threat.
- No Wires between the Rider and the Motorcycle – H.A.R.D. utilizes wireless transmission for critical data: the radar detector warning alert. This eliminates the need to have a clumsy earpiece and avoids tangled wires.
- No Modifications to Helmet or Radar Detector – The H.A.R.D. transmitter simply plugs into your radar detector and the receiver is easily placed inside your cheek pad or can be mounted on the outside of your helmet. This allows for quick and easy installation with no tools needed for installation.
- Clean and Simple Design – The H.A.R.D. System is nearly invisible to others. The transmitter and receiver are small in size avoiding the risk of being seen by the people giving you tickets (no need to give them another reason for not letting you out of a ticket).
- Same Benefits as Sophisticated Military Heads Up Display – Heads Up Displays allow pilots to keep their eyes on their target. H.A.R.D. allows you to keep your eyes on the road without having to look down and try to see the radar detector alerting you of a radar threat. H.A.R.D. also alerts you wherever your eyes are looking. Whether in a curve or looking at the scenery, you will immediately know when your radar detector is providing an alert.
- Designed for Motorcycling Conditions – H.A.R.D. provides a visual alert overcoming road noise, music players and intercom systems.
- One Radar Detector for all Vehicles – H.A.R.D. is an accessory for existing radar detectors. No need to buy a separate radar detector for your bike. If you are already using a Beltronics, Escort, or Valentine radar detector, simply take the detector from your other vehicle and use it on your bike.
- Compatible with Leading Radar Detectors – The H.A.R.D. system is compatible with the following detectors (when using an approved factory power cord): Beltronics Sti Driver, RX65, RX55, and the V995; Escort RedLine, 9500ix, 9500i, 8500 X50, 8500, 7500S, 7500, 6800, and the Solo S2 (Escort Direct Wire Cord option required); all Valentine One models without requiring the Remote Audio Device.
- Stand-alone System – Since the H.A.R.D. system is self-contained, you don’t have to worry about changing your current way of riding. This means no need to re-wire your bike or change your sound systems.
Frequently Asked Questions about the H.A.R.D. System
- How long do the batteries last and how easy are they to replace? The H.A.R.D. system uses on CR2032 battery and typical battery life is several weeks of normal use. To change the battery you would unscrew the rear of the case and replace, takes less then a minute.
- How easy is to see the LED in bright sunlight? The bright red LED is very easy to see, just place it off to the corner of your vision and you will see the flashing red LED when your radar detector activates.
Potential Issues with the H.A.R.D. System
- Neither the transmitter or receiver are water proof, therefore if you’re riding in wet weather I would recommend that you cover both with a child size shower cap and/or remove it from your system to prevent damage.
My Bottom Line Recommendation for the H.A.R.D. Sysem
If you’re a Iron Butt Rider as I am, I strongly recommend the H.A.R.D. system and to integrate it with a high performance radar detector such as the Escort 8500 X50 or The Escort Redline radar detector.
This Based upon my 20 years in law enforcement as a certified police radar instructor, 15 years being involved in the speed counter measurement industry and a motorcycle rider myself.

Very interesting your articles. I’m writing to you from Portugal, Europe, where surely the bands or frequencies are diferent from the States. I own a BMW K1300GT and would like to install a non detectable radar detector with as less wires as possible. This is a tuff situation on how to chose the right system, thus if you sale for Europe, please advise right system. I would apreciate.
Thanks and best regards

Hello,
My name is Jim Gutierrez and I have been using you HARD system for about 6-7 years.
I am very pleased with the system it has done an excellent job in notification along with my Escort 9500xi
My system is starting to degrade my alerts are now spotty even with new batteries and the casing on the
Transmitter has come loose, I was wondering if I can send my unit in for an undate or trade my unit for a newer model?
Pleases let me know, I have recommend your product to many fellow riders and will continue for as long as I ride.
A
Thank you,
Jim G.
@ Jim Gutierrez – The Hard System is being updated by the developer and he will not have any units till Spring of 2012. It is going to be a new unit from the ground up from my understanding
If you have a list to notify when HARD is again available, please put me on it.
I have two that I bought from Roy, both have stopped working.
Is there anyone who repairs them?
BC
I should be seeing the manufacture here in the next couple of weeks, when they come out will let you know
No one I know can repair them
Radar Roy,
Would it be possible to be notified when the new updated HARD system is available for purchase? Also, how much is it expected to cost? I have a Bel x65 to be hooked up.
Thanks.
Gerald
Funny you should ask – I spoke with Aaron today and he is sending me a new unit on Monday to test. If all goes well they should be ready in the next month. Don’t know yet about $$$
