I really like this product. It does what it’s supposed to do, alert you to red light cameras etc.
The only drawback is that where I live, Chicago, the number of camera installs are outpacing the updating of the database. Perhaps not enough people own the mirror here yet to quickly contribute. And, the city (and many money hungry surrounding suburbs) don’t seem to publicly announce all installations. The database is improving, and that’s why I kept it. Also, the manufacturer is VERY attentive and nice to work with. They actually answer your emails and help you solve any problems you might encounter. I gave it four stars becaus I’m sure that in other areas where more locations are known, I’m sure it does great, and Cheetah is serious about improving the database here. Installation and operation are both easy. When it knows where the cameras are, you WILL be alerted.
It’s a worthwhile buy, and I’d be interested in how well it works in other areas of the country
Might have to give this a try w/ my RL
If we had any photo radar in KC, I would definitely buy this.
How is it powered? Will I need to connect it to a 12 Volt socket? I am worried about an unsightly wire hanging down from the mirror. Or do I need to get professional wiring done in order to power it?
@ Cyclotron You would direct wire it to your fusebox, running the wire along the frame of the windshield
